Bohn, 1904, consisting of 26 (of 27) col. lithogr. leaves (resp. frontispiece, 24 (of 25) plates (incl. title, numb. “II-XII” & “XIV-XXVI” on the stone) & colophon) designed & illustrated by HENRICUS (nearly all monogrammed on the stone) incorporating the medieval Dutch text (incl. 1 musical score). Large folio (ca. 54,5 x 40 cm.), loose as issued in the orig. dec. cloth portfolio (with 4 ties).

¶ Rare publication printed in The Hague by “N.V. Lith. v/h S. Lankhout & Co.” in 280 numb. copies. One of 10 Roman numb. PRESENTATION COPIES printed on JAPANESE PAPER. With SIGNED DEDICATION in black ink (in the colophon) by the artist HENRICUS to the Dutch lithographer HENRI LANKHOUT (1874-1938). Beautiful executed work in Art Nouveau-style by the Dutch artist Henricus (pseudonym of Hendricus Jansen, 1867-1921) comprising his illustrations for the medieval Dutch folk ballad “The Song of Lord Halewijn” which took him 2 years to complete. – Lacks 1 col. lithogr. leaf (no. XIII). A few defects to the portfolio (spine partly dam., binding sl. soiled/ stained), but nevertheless all lithogr. leaves in very good condition.
