ATTRIBUTED TO MEINDERT HOBBEMA, DUTCH, OIL ON WOOD PANEL, 17TH C., H 17", W 21", LANDSCAPE WITH VILLAGERS Oil on wood panel mounted onto a cradled mahogany panel. Metal label reads "Meindert Hobbema 1638 - 170-" (1638 - 1709). Size is image only. No signature found. Custom antique frame 26" x 29".
Condition Report: Under UV light in the unopened frame: c. 30% to 35% spotty overpainting; original panel has bevelled edges on 3 of its sides and has been mounted onto an antique cradled wood panel; long horizontal crack in the LL closer to the lower edge of the original panel; frame has some chips; painting appears clean as far as yellowing and soiling goes (may have been cleaned fairly recently). rf, 9-19-2019
