Liverpool School Portrait of the Three-Masted Ship "Eddystone" coming to the aid of the dismasted American Sailing Ship "Josiah Quinn", having partially furled sails and two longboats out rescuing crew, oil on canvas, unsigned, in what is probably the original five rank two-toned gold gesso frame, OS: 35" x 51 1/2", SS: 25" x 41 1/2". Cleaned and relined, fine overall craquelure, losses to frame.
