AURORA THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME BOXED MODEL KIT (LON CHANEY BOX ART).
Kit No. 461-100. ©1963 Universal Pictures Co., Inc. This is a second issue box with the $1.00 price coding. Production of the original issue of the Hunchback box (see first issue box offered in this auction) was halted in 1965 after objections were raised by actor Anthony Quinn, who complained the box art bore a definite likeness to his portrayal of the character in the 1956 film. The art was replaced w/this modified art featuring the Hunchback w/shaggier hair. Cellophane wrap has been cut along bottom edge but is still clinging top lid and bottom portion of cello is in the box. Cello on lid is wrinkled across the top and split on three corners w/price sticker on one end. Model kit was not modified but instruction sheet art was. Box has been opened. Box lid has lt. aging/wear and remains tight. Box bottom is solid as factory taped. Exc. Kit molded in tan plastic and is complete as inventoried. Many pieces remain on sprues also includes lightly aged original instructions and Apollo model offer. Pieces display Exc.
