Struck in a particular alloy not referenced in the standard references, this pattern coin is intriguing. The type used is that of the 1 Corona 1893. It would therefore appear to be a die trial that was never put into production, as evidenced by the subtle differences in the lettering and in the crown compared with standard examples.
