AUSTRIA. Salzburg. 2 Ducats, 1571. Johann Jakob Khuen von Belasi. NGC MS-63.
Fr-636; Probszt-477. Weight: 6.91 gms. With names and titles of both the archbishop of Salzburg Johann Jakob (1560-86) and the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II (1564-76). A nicely preserved and lustrous example with a decent strike, though a couple of areas of weakness are noticed, displaying attractive pale gold color in the protected areas of the legends coupled with honey-gold tone throughout. This choice uncirculated survivor, far nicer then normally encountered, offers good eye appeal worthy of a premium bid.
Estimate: $2,500 - $3,500.
Provenance: Ex: Hess-Divo Auction # 321 October 25, 2012 Lot # 1692.
