AUSTRIA. Salzburg. 2 Ducats, 1608. Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, AU Details Gold Shield.

Fr-660; KM-4.1. A SCARCE and popular early 17th Century gold type produced between 1598-1611. It appears the survival rate is not very high for this thirteen year series, individual dates enter the market infrequently making it a challenging set to complete. A sharply struck and lustrous example on a somewhat wavy flan with crisp devices. The reverse fields boast flashy brilliance highlighting the intricate design features. While the obverse luster is satiny and somewhat muted. A small scrape is noted in the upper right field as stated on the PCGS insert mentioned for accuracy. Though a bit brighter then the surrounding fields, the aforementioned impairment hardly distracts from the overall appearance of this bright and lustrous survivor.

Estimate: $900 - $1,200.
