A German silver and hard rubber reel with a 2 3/8" diameter (measured pillar to pillar) and a 1" wide spool, stamped "Abbey & Imbrie - NY - Pat. Oct. 8.1889". Made by Julius Vom Hofe for A&I, in VG+ condition with sun faded rubber, leaving a dark shadow where the handle rested.
