Abiola Idowu was born in Nigeria in 1973. He studied at Ahmadu Bello University Zaira, and earned his M.A. from the University of Lagos. He worked as a professional artist for over 20 years in Africa before emigrating to the United States and finally settling in Canada. He works as both a painter and sculptor, and has developed his own unique techniques which he has termed Opo which means “pillar” in the Yoruba diaclect, Palmistry and Mechanomorphy.
