Abraham Lincoln CDV With Signature Clip, PSA MINT 9 Slabbed, Unique!
Signature

Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865). His signature, "Abraham," boldly penned on a 1.75" x .5" slip of paper, affixed below his image on a vintage carte-de-visite of Lincoln at three-quarter pose turning to the left. 1p, 2.5" x 4", no place, no date. Sepia-colored albumen photograph mounted on cream stock card with printed caption along bottom margin reading, "A. Lincoln, / Born, Feb 12th, 1809 Died April 15th, 1865." Blank verso. Certified, graded MINT 9, and encapsulated by PSA/DNA to an overall size of 4.25" x 7.25". Expected handling wear including minor soiling, foxing, and age toning, with a bit of adhesive residue. In near fine condition with a clean, dark signature.

The photograph was originally taken by Anthony Berger, the superintendent of Mathew Brady's Washington, D.C. gallery, in the Cabinet Room of the White House on February 9, 1864, and was actually one of seven portraits taken during the same afternoon session, which resulted in no less than four iconic and unusual Lincoln portraits. Robert Todd Lincoln favored this portrait of his father above all others.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
