Letter to Ulysses Doubleday, in full: "Yours of the 15th inclosing that which I now return was duly received, and for which I thank you. I have neglected for a few days to return the inclosed." The letter is affixed to a same-size mount and cloth-matted with various captions and artwork related to Lincoln and Fort Sumter; framed to an overall size of 28 x 26. In very good condition, with toning, light staining, and small areas of paper loss along the edges.
