This French bicycle brand takes its name from an obscure piece of German history: Veleda was a first century priestess who predicted that her people would rise up and defeat the Romans. Hovering above the handlebars of the bike is a bird of prey crowned with the Latin phrase "woe to chains," indicating that this is a chainless model.
