Achille Castiglioni - Flos - Floor lamp - Arco

'Arco' is a lamp designed by the Italians Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Achille Castiglioni in 1962 for the Italian lighting and furniture company Flos. This is one of the most famous and best seller pieces of industrial design. It is an iconic Italian designer item that is part of the permanent collection at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan and Mo. MA in New York. The lamp gives a direct light. The base is made from a parallelepiped of white marble, weighing approx. 65 kg with rounded corners and edges. The metal structure rises from the base, fixed to the marble by a groove cut into it. The light is housed at the end of the arc, in a dome-shaped diffuser consisting of two pieces: a perforated shell, that stops the bulb from overheating and an aluminium ring to adjust the position of the dome with respect to the adjustment of the arch.
