Native American, Southwestern United States, Acoma, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A set of 2 pottery ashtrays, one in the shape of an avian-form plate and the other a minimalist jar. The jar features black triangular motifs on the exterior as well as a pair of cigar/cigarette holders. The larger ashtray features a protruding avian head and tail, 2 cigar/cigarette holders that double as the 'wings', and a pair of abstract bird heads painted in black inside the basin center. Size of largest: 6.625" L x 5.3" W x 2.625" H (16.8 cm x 13.5 cm x 6.7 cm)

Condition Report: Repair to tail of ashtray as shown, with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines; jar is intact. Each with light abrasions, otherwise in great condition. Written on base of ashtray is "ACOMA, N. Mex", and written on the base of the jar is "ACOMA, N.M. | M. Valley".
