Adamite Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Mun. de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico "Four lime green slightly intergrown lime green lustrous balls growing on limonite with small adamite crystals growing on limonite on the other end of the specimen. Bought from John Whitmeyer [sic]." - Rock H. Currier Very, very few specimen localities have had the kind of longevity that the Ojuela Mine has. It's the Energizer Bunny of the mining world. That said, the proportion of specimens that meet the high standards of 'high-class' mineral collectors is rather small. Johnny Whitmire was quite aware of this and he had a good eye for the lone "keeper" among the 'also-rans.' This was one of the "keepers." It has a custom acrylic base. Overall Measurements: 2.8 x 1.6 x 1.2 inches (7.0 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from John Whitmire [RHC #1634, acquired 1971] MinID KER-764 [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
