Adamite on Limonite Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Mun. de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico "A 6 cm plate of shiny bright lemon yellow wheals [sic] of adamite to about 2 cm growing on it. Got the specimen from John Whitmeyer [sic]. He said he had some good ones in his closet that he would give me sometime but took so long to do it that I thought it was just bull shit. Then one day he said, here the [sic]are. The [sic] are the best adamites that I have in my collection." - Rock H. Currier Rock must have ragged on Johnny something fierce to get him to go through with the deal. You can imagine the interchange that led up to the transfer. Too bad it wasn't recorded in toto. Knowing Rock and Johnny, it would have been fun to be the fly on the wall. Colorful language was almost a certainty. Another certainty is that the specimen shown here truly is a killer; they both knew what a good one should be: can't BS that. Overall Measurements: 2.4 x 2.4 x 2.4 inches (6.0 x 6.0 x 6.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from John Whitmire [RHC #1636, acquired 1971] MinID 9RT-VGC [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
