"Admiranda romanarum antiquitatum", a compilation of large-sized coppers of roman art work, by Bartoli and Bellori, Italy, 1693An impressive collection of roman art work and monuments by one of the time's most talented and appraised etchers, Pietro Santi Bartoli, with comments by Pietro Bellori. 2nd edition, with the first one, dated 1685, extremely rare and impossible to find with all plates. In-Folio (35,5 x 48 cm), 83 (instead of 84) numbered leaves, the last one, #84, missing. Strong paper with white margins, water stains on the top edge throughout, some foxing and browning mostly in the right margins, a water stain in the right bottom corner from beginning to plate 30. Plate 4 and title dirtied. The front cover with fly leaf missing, the rear cover broken off the back, but still in place. Condition: III
