Adolf Sehring (Russian/American, 1930-2015)

"Jenny and Mark". Oil on canvas, signed in the lower left corner, in a carved and gessoed gilded frame with linen liner, overall 40" x 34". Artist registration number "754" verso of canvas. Provenance: original to the artist's collection; purchased through Zoltan Gluck Gallery, Provincetown, Mass., in 1970's.

A Classical Realist painter of rural landscapes, figures and portraits and also a sculptor and lithographer. Depicting scenes of vanishing America.
He has also had portrait commissions including one of Pope John Paul II, which is now in the Vatican Collection. He has held the position of Lecturer to various art organizations including the Lehigh Valley Art Group.

Condition: Very good, evenly fluorescent under UV light. Staining to linen liner upper right.
