Condition B+: repaired tears at edges, some slightly into image; small replaced loss at lower left corner; reds slightly attenuated.
Treidler was a prolific illustrator and commercial artist who created numerous propaganda posters for the United States during both World Wars. He worked for the Furness Line from the 1930s onwards, becoming their in-house designer in the 1960s. He did advertisements specifically for the island of Bermuda, separate from the shipping company, and also did work for other ocean liner companies, Wells Fargo, New York Central Lines and international airlines.
One of two posters Treidler designed featuring an evening scene with an elegant couple clad in evening wear. Here, they are dancing on shore with the Furness ship Queen of Bermuda, from which they have presumably recently disembarked, in the distance. On the other image the pair, in the same attire, are on the deck of the Furness liner.
