Condition Report: Unlined canvas. A backing board inserted between the canvas and stretcher, likely done by the artist. Frame abrasion at edges. Yellowing to the varnish layer. Finely patterned craquelure throughout, with more pronounced cracking appearing in the sky area. Stretcher bar marks faintly visible at upper edge. Surface dirt and dust, particularly in areas of thick impasto. Not examined out of frame.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. A few small brushy retouches to the sky at upper right. Dark red pigments in the rock at left fluoresce.
