Rare Empire floor clock from the Second Empire period with a refined design featuring richly figured mahogany wood combined with meticulously crafted fire-gilt bronzes, dominated by four caryatids and a large angel at the bottom. Signed on the enamel dial: A Mougin. Adolphe Mougin was a renowned Parisian watchmaker with a workshop at 75 Rue du Turenne, later Rue des Filles du Calvaire. The quality of the workmanship testifies to their destination for the most demanding clientele. Completely restored, movement to be adjusted.
