An elegant French lady, dressed in one of her most beautiful dresses and a hat in her hand. The dimensions of the oak panel (wood) are 32. 8 x 23. 8 cm and the dimensions of the ornamental frame are 54 x 45 cm. The painting is in excellent condition and has never been retouched. See the last three photos with UV light. The old ornament is in reasonable condition. It has some wear and tear due to age. The French painter Adolphe Phalipon worked in the nineteenth century. Not much is known about Phalipon, except that he was born in Paris. He was a pupil of Ary Scheffer (1795-1858) and Antoine Vollon (1833-1900) . He mainly painted portraits and still lifes and was possibly related to the painter Louise Phalipon. The painting will be packed well (including frame protection with foam U-profiles) and is sent by registered mail.
