No visible signature, after Adriaen Brouwer, a man in a festive mood standing behind the table, raising his glass of wine to salute us. In front with his back turned to the viewer, a companion, oil on copper, 13 x 17 cm
The model who is posing here as a drunk can be seen in other paintings by Brouwer (f.i. the smoker).
Probably a copy after Adriaan Brouwer (early 18thC).

Condition: Considerable flaking and loss of the pigment layer on the copper plate.
Handwritten note on the back "Deze schilderij werd door Sotheby (London) toegekend aan Adriaan Brouwer. (Gesigneerd) J.M.Schelfhout.
In our opinion in good condition.
