This atmospheric painting by Adrianus Everson was made at the beginning of his artistic career. In the 1840s, Eversen painted a number of landscapes, of which this present lot is an excellent example. The tree that catches the wind, the three figures standing on the shore, and the reflection on the water are already depicted in the style for which Eversen is best known for.
