Advertising Poster Empire Builder Angry Bull Great

Original vintage travel calendar advertising poster - Route of the Empire Builder - featuring a native American wearing traditional dress with a feathered headdress and the caption below - Angry Bull Blackfeet Indian Hunter Glacier National Park in Montana - with small red and white illustrations on the sides of wild animals between trees and hunters on horses with the title text in bold stylised lettering below. Calendar below for December 1951 with information on the Angry Bull Mighty Blackfeet Hunter underneath - Two Great North Railway logos and above an image of The New Empire Builder train, an orange and black streamline locomotive travelling at speed on tracks in front of a snow topped mountain landscape. Artwork by the German-American portrait artist and graphic designer Winold Reiss (1886-1953) who painted Native American tribal members on the Blackfeet Reservation from 1920. Launched in 1929, The Empire Builder was the flagship passenger train of the Great Northern Railway (1889-1970), originally operating a steam powered service that was re-equipped in 1947 to a streamliner service; it was relaunched in 1971 when it was taken over by Amtrak and now runs daily intercity services between Chicago and Seattle and Portland. Good condition, tears, paper losses, creasing, minor staining, seperate paper attached in top left corner and for the calendar.
