Advertising Poster Harry Tate Comedy Play UK Motoring. Original antique music hall variety performance theatre advertising poster for Harry Tate's (Ronald Hutchison; 1872-1940) highly successful comedy play - Motoring - first introduced in 1902 with the tagline A smile! A laugh!! A Yell!!! featuring the stylised text in red and black lettering and the colourful artwork set within a red and black line border of a boat tailed vintage racing car with the father holding a small axe and walking towards his slouching son whistling by the car, depicting a scene in the sketch when they both fail to start the car in order to drive the boy to college during which he makes inane comments such as "It's amazing, Pa-pa" and "Goodbye-eee" that became Tate's best-known catchphrases. Printed by David Allen & Sons Belfast. Also at London, Harrow, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. Poor condition, tears, paper losses, creasing, staining, folds.
