African Cote DIvoire Ceremonial Carved Palaver Chair

An African Ivory Coast hand carved ceremonial palaver chair having detailed linework of a carved face on the rounded back. The face having almond shaped eyes, scarification on the forehead and curved lines creating intricate coiffure appearance with various strands protruding below the head. There are two carved square forms at the bottom of the backrest. The chair is in two pieces with a carved and rounded seat and long arms acting as back leg supports. It rests atop two bent human-like carved front legs.
Dimensions: 24 x 36 x 30 in
Condition Report: Good condition. Chair is warped and it was this way originally. It will need to be leveled to be used.
