African Ethiopia Oromo Leather Hide Shield
An East African Ethiopia Oromo animal hide shield constructed of buffalo or possibly hippopotamus leather that has been stretched and embossed over a wooden form with a continuous raised ridge and knot pattern with central raised crest in the center. Shield still show a puncture in the center most likely from a spear or arrow and two indigenous repairs along the edge. There is a handle on the back.
