This work was purportedly painted by John Downman.
Condition Report:
Some light surface dirt and surface scratches, the largest scratch 3cm above the sitter's head. There are a number of scattered isolated spots of retouching to the background which are visible in natural light. Inspection under UV reveals patches of a green cloudy varnish but no further evidence of retouching other than that already mentioned.
