After John and Elaine Steinbeck Met Letters

Annie Laurie Williams was John Steinbeck's agent and friend. She apparently met Elaine while John was away. He initialed his thanks in the note dated August 18th 1949. Annie Laurie Williams Wrote: "John Dear: She came in to see us on Monday for a brief visit and I am with you one hundred percent. I think she is warm and lovely and yet strong and capable and most important she is good inside. I want to see her again next week when she gets back from Washington, but can understand why you feel as you do. I don't think there are any bad spots and I feel right about this and hope everything works out as it should." Two letters from Joan Crawford in 1949. One for John and one for Elaine on Del Monte Lodge, Pebble Beach, California Stationary. Letter to John "Goodnight and au vouir and Thank you from my grateful heart for many treasured moments and memories. Elaine and I will see you soon - J Letter to Elaine "Elaine - Thank you for the beginning of a wonderful friendship that I shall always nourish and cherish.
