After Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973)

La Bouteille de Rhum, 1965, edition of 250 plus proofs, published by Guy Spitzer, Paris. Signed "Picasso" in pencil l.r., numbered "90/250" in pencil l.l., publisher's dry stamp to image l.l. Color collotype and pochoir on paper, image size 23 1/2 x 19 3/8 in. ( 59.7 x 49.2 cm), framed.
Condition: Not examined out of frame.

N.B. This composition reproduces the painting of the same title currently in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. The work was painted at the height of Analytic Cubism and is one of the first works in which Picasso incorporated letters.
Estimate $4,000-6,000

Out of the frame the sheet has an Arches watermark with a deckled right edge, and measures 31 x 26 1/2 in. There are minor crimps to some deckles, unobtrusive handling creases to the margins, and several pale stains along the edge of the left margin. There is also pale light-staining (more apparent on the verso). The work has the publisher's ink stamp on the verso. There is also tape residue and pencil annotations.
