After Sir Anthony Van Dyck, Flemish 1599-1641- Virgin and Child with two donors; oil on panel, 18.3 x 14.3 cm. Note: After the original and much larger oil by Van Dyck, conceived in 1630, and today held in the Louvre, Paris [Inv.1231]. The identity of the two kneeling donors is unknown but they are presumed to be a rich couple from Antwerp, where van Dyck was then working. The original painting was recorded in the collection of Louis XIV of France in as early as 1685.
