Wearing a fur lined cloak and clutching a novel at his chest. After the portrait by Joshua Reynolds. Stretcher verso having a red wax seal of 50 Albemarle Street (John Murray publishers). Having a painted carved wood frame, H 36.75", W 31.75". Provenance: Collection of Peter B. Frantz (1921-2019), Bay City, MI. By family descent. Purchased from Charles J. Sawyer, London, 1980.
