The canvas has been lined. Rubbing and abrasions to the framing edges but this is largely concealed when framed. There are some minor surface scratches throughout. Inspection under UV reveals a repaired puncture above the sitter's left arm and numerous other spots in background areas and below the sitter's eye and on his forehead. The varnish layer is quite uneven and discoloured and the work would probably benefit from a light clean and new varnish.Condition Report Disclaimer
