A Chinese agate carving of a scholar dating from the 19th century. with a wooden stand

Dimensions are: 1 1/8 inches tall X 7/8 inches wide, 2.9 cm X 2.2 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Kwok Woon Kun, formerly a shareholder of Wing On Company, a well-known department store group in Hong Kong and Shanghai. This collection was acquired in Hong Kong prior to Mr. Kwok's death in 1969. His collection was shipped to Canada in 1981 and was inherited by Mr. Kwok’s daughter and grandson.
