In 2010 Ai Weiwei covered the floor of the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern in London with 100 million sunflower seeds. Ai made them of porcelain, a traditional Chinese product. All sunflower seeds are hand-made and painted by hundreds of workers in a workshop in Jingdezhen.

Recently, museum Voorlinden in Wassenaar also included a number of seeds in their collection.
