Air Fighters Comics #2 Crowley Copy Pedigree (Hillman Fall, 1942) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages. One of the defining titles of the World War II-era comics, this issue features the origins and first appearances of Airboy and the armor-clad aviator Iron Ace. It also boasts the debut of Airboy's unique plane Birdie; its unique and then-fictional design allowed for vertical climbs, retractable wings, and the ability to hover -- fantastical at the time, but existent in fighter jets 25 years later. Charles Biro provided the classic cover and story, with story art by Mort Leav, Bob Fujitani, and Harry Sahle.
