Aisaku Suzuki (Japanese / Germany ) Blue Ikebana Vase, maker's mark on base. Late 20th century. With original purchase receipt 8lbs Born in Kobe, Japan. He studied French language and literature followed by ceramics in Kyoto (1958-63) with special emphasis on stoneware techniques and glazes. From 1964 to 1968 he maintained his own studio in Kyoto. In 1968/69 he travelled in Europe for study purposes including time in Austria, France, Denmark and Sweden, and worked as a ceramic artist in France and Austria. From 1971 to 1979 he maintained his own studio in southwest France, near Bordeaux. In 1979 he moved to Germany and set up his own studio in Breisach. Approx.
