Akai X-360 Professional Stereo Tape Recorder
Very rare model, auto-reverse and 2x 15W RMS amplification
1968-1971 - Serial number A-406-0552
Everything has been tested and works.
The belts have been replaced and the heads demagnetized.
\r
The Akai Crossfield 4-head arrangement has again been used to maximize high frequency response and the unit is fitted with a 50 watt solid state amplifier.
Magnetic brakes provide very quick stopping in fast forward and reverse mode and a "Comput-O-Matic" level control automatically adjusts the recording level.
The machine can reverse automatically by means of a reversible capstan motor and a mechanically movable read head (electromagnet) . Reverse recording is not possible, only playback.
\r
“Automatic Dust-minder” system – an indicator light that signals when the heads need cleaning!
\r
