Al-Asma al-Arba’in (‘Prayers of the Forty Idrisid Names), signed Murshid al-Shirazi, Iran, dated Rajab AH [8?]71/1476 AD?, 32ff., Arabic manuscript, prayers to the Prophet Idris, traditionally attributed to Shihab al-din Suhrawardi (d. 1191 AD), Abu Hafs ‘Umar Suhrawardi (d. 1234) or Ahmad Suhrawardi (d. 1301-02 AD), with supposed occult properties, 13ll. of neat black naskh script per page, with heads in gold naskh, opening bifolio with header in gold thuluth script on a scrolling ground of vine, colophon dated (date unclear) and signed, the scribe stating that he belonged to a sufi lodge, in Ottoman red morocco binding with gilt-decorated central medallion and spandrels decorated with saz leaves and flower heads, folio 15.4 x 9.7cm.
