The Frances Wolfson Endowed Teaching Chair of Excellence in Arts and Carnegie/Case 2003 Florida Professor of the Year Award, has degrees in literature from the University of Chile, BA and MFA degrees from Syracuse University and MFA from Northern Illinois University. Since 1996, Meza has been Professor of Fine Arts, Department of Arts and Philosophy, at the Kendall Campus Arts and Philosophy Department. Most recently, Meza's work obtained the Third Place at the 2011 International Print Biennial at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Twice, Meza's work has been awarded the Arts & Letters Award and the Crow Press Printmaking Award at The Jacksonville State University Small Works Exhibition in Alabama. His art has been shown internationally, including: The Cabo Frio International Print Biennial, Cabo Frio, Brazil; Decenta Gallery, Bandung, Indonesia; the 5th Kochi International Print Triennial, Tosi-Wasi Museum of Paper, Kochi, Japan; and others. He also published four volumes of poetry. Meza was the recipient of the 1997 Florida Artists' Book Prize.
