BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST
Alejo Muntaner Llull was born in Manacor in 1920. He studied at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts in Palma with Pere Barceló, and at the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts (Barcelona) . Starting in 1945, he settled successively in Barcelona, Paris and Rome and returned to the Island in 1974.
He exhibited his work for the first time in Manacor (1947) and has subsequently exhibited his work in different towns in Mallorca and Catalonia. Part of his work has spread to various European and American countries and the Philippines, where he is recognized. He cultivates urban and rural landscape themes usually in oil. Influenced by 19th century realism and, later, by the French impressionists.
