In Vieste, the rocky peninsula dominated by the church of San Francesco penetrates the Adriatic Sea together with a good part of the historic center. The photograph comes from a project carried out in 2023 in Italy and dedicated to the Gargano, the limestone promontory overlooking the Adriatic Sea that the ancients called "mountain of the sun".
The image is signed on the back and measures 30x40 cm. It is printed in a limited edition (25 copies) on Hahnemühle Baryta FB 350 gr paper. and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
Alessandro Gandolfi is an Italian professional photographer and journalist, co-founder of the Parallelozero agency. Interested in recounting the small and large changes in contemporary society, his reportages have appeared in newspapers around the world and exhibited in various international exhibitions and photography festivals. He has obtained international recognition such as the Sony World Photography Award, the NPPA Best of Photojournalism, the POY - Pictures of the Year and the PDN. Eight of his reportages published in National Geographic Italia have obtained the "Best Edit Award" as the best reportage published in the various local editions of the magazine.
