Alessandro Milesi (Venice, 1856 - there, 1945) , Portrait of a nobleman, 1918, oil on canvas, dimensions of the painting 120 x 101 cm, dimensions including the frame 150 x 129 cm, signed and dated lower left, in original coeval frame . Monumental painting by Alessandro Milesi from the collection of an important family of Genoese shipowners. For size, commitment and stylistic quality, this piece ranks at the top of Alessandro Milesi's artistic production and represents one of the most complete and refined portraits of his career. Conservation status: The work is completely original, it is presented on the first canvas with original frame and frame. The pictorial surface is intact and very well preserved. To note only an L-shaped tear of about 2 cm at the bottom left. There is a crack of natural aging that does not constitute any problem for the solidity of the pictorial material. The work is framed in an important original coeval frame in carved and gilded wood with some signs of aging. On the back of the original frame some indications and the date 6 July 1918. Furthermore, the stamp 93 appears, indicating a possible participation in an exhibition, such as a biennial, a promoter or similar events. Work with Certificate of Authenticity and Legitimate Origin.
