Notation: Signed and dated lower left: A KANOLDT 07. Inscribed by hand other than that of the artist verso on the label: Sonnenuntergang von Alex. Kanold, Karlsruhe 20.12.1906 in seinem Atelier gekauft.
Frame/Pedestal: Framed.
The painting is listed on Kanoldt's original invoice from 20th December 1906 to the Karlsruhe manufacturer Albert Hoerth. The date "07" on the picture contradicts this. Presumably Kanoldt had not finished the paining in 1906 and the buyer paid in advance.
