A great technical feat to attach the bird on one side only: the two elements are held by a riveted corner. Large size: wing width 72 cm. Length of the terrace 40 cm. Good general condition for the bronze, the left rear leg is clearly broken and needs to be glued back together, it is present.
Alexandre Ouline, a Belgian artist of Russian origin, had several copies of this quintessential Baudelairian subject made during his lifetime. Besides this example which turns out to be the largest known referenced (72cm) , there are others in 64 cm or 42 cm for the amplitude of the wings.
