Full calf with gilt lettering. Gilt top edges, all edges nicely trimmed. Octavo size. Complete with fold-out lithographic map, lithographic frontispiece of Fort Nez Perces in volume I, and lithographic frontispiece portrait in volume II.

The pair measures 7 3/4" x 5 1/4" x 2 1/4".
Condition Report: Each volume is in exceptional condition considering the age. The leather covers have a soft hand, and are very appealing in appearance, with only mild rubbing and scuffing. The binding remains tight. The sheets are impressively free of notable toning, and no foxing was observed.
