BIOGRAPHY:
Veron, a pupil of Paul Delaroche, turned to landscape painting and belonged to the circle of the Barbizon school. Influenced by Charles-Francois Daubigny, Theodore Rousseau and Jules Dupre, Veron painted preferably between the forest of Fontainebleau and Auvers-sur-Oise. Since 1848, Veron exhibited for more than thirty years at the Salon and with his works occupied an important place among the artists of his time. Veron's works are kept in several French museums and at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
