(Small repair on the back) . ------------------------------------------------------ A veteran of AUSTERLITZ , EYLAU, FRIEDLAND and SMOLENSK, General Alexandre d'Alton or Dalton was the son of an Irish manufacturer based in Brives. Enlisted from 1791 onward, he served during all of the revolutionary and imperial wars until 1814 and was in charge of various commands and inspections under the Restoration and July Monarchy. Named Baron of the Empire in 1810, he obtained the title of Count from Louis XVIII following this request.
