A young girl with dark curly hair, dressed in a white and blue dress with necklaces. Signed Harlamoff (in Latin) and signed and dated Harlamoff 1887 (in Cyrillic). On the reverse of the frame a label from P. Hombert Fils in Paris. Oil on canvas. 46×34 cm.

A painting, also by Alexei Alexeievich Harlamoff, depicting the same girl - in identical clothes but wearing other jewellery with the measurements 45×33 cm - was sold on auction in London 1 December 2004 for app. € 132,000.

Alexei Alexeievich Harlamoff was very fond of this model, whom he painted several times in the 1880s.

Provenance: A descendant of King Christian IX (1818–1906) and Queen Louise of Denmark (1817–1898), who reigned from 1863 and were known as Europe's parents-in-law. Presumably originally acquired directly from the artist.
